REIMAN GARDENS RECEIVES SCHOLARSHIP FROM IOWA MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCE EDUCATION PARTNERSHIP AMES, Iowa — The Iowa Mathematics and Science Education Partnership (IMSEP) gave Reiman Gardens funds to support its ISU intern and youth education programs. Specifically, the scholarship will support Kid’s Story Time, Summer Day Camps, Exploration Stations, Gardens’ youth tours and the summer education ISU intern. “We are thrilled to partner with Reiman Gardens’ programs because the Gardens reach so many Central Iowa youth and create scientifically and educationally based curriculum development,” said Dr. Jeff Weld, Director of the IMSEP. “As an association dedicated to improving mathematics and science education and leadership in Iowa’s schools, the Gardens’ programs meet many of our expectations,” he added. IMSEP is a collaboration of Iowa State University, University of Iowa, and University of Northern Iowa. “These funds will help develop our training curriculum and impact the quality and level of instruction for all the youth curriculum we develop and utilize in our youth education and tour programs,” said Aaron Steil, education coordinator at Reiman Gardens. “We are going to be offering better opportunities for discovery while promoting national science education standards and learning objectives because of this scholarship,” Steil said.
